I swear travel has been programmed in me since birth. It’s safe to say my carry-on never has to worry about collecting dust. If I’m not traveling or preparing for a trip, you can be sure I’m feeling a bit restless. I live for experiencing new cultures, tasting new foods, meeting new people, learning new languages, etc. There’s so much of this world to see and I intend to experience as much of it as I possibly can. Anyone else with me? My greatest hassle while traveling was finding reliable WiFi. I get so many question regarding how to get WiFi while traveling,  fear not, I have your saving grace – TEP WIRELESS.

Three years ago I was introduced to a travel game-changer, TEP WIRELESS – a pocket wireless hotspot. Long gone are the days of wandering unknown streets for free wifi while traveling just to load a Google Map. TEP WIRELESS is a small portable wifi hotspot that fits in your pocket, allowing you to connect to wifi anywhere in the world. Anywhere meaning…you can connect at the beach in the Italian Rivera, in the middle of the desert in Abu Dubai, in the depths of the Mexican jungle, or within a coffee farm in Colombia.

As much as I love disconnecting while traveling, the reality is being connected is a necessity. Not only is staying connected convenient because it allows me to work and study remotely but being able to connect unlimitedly anywhere is the world also provides me with the security to communicate with my family when I’m away. Finding reliable wifi while traveling was always my greatest hassle and paying the outrageous international charges my phone network offered was definitely not an option. TEP WIRELESS has been an answered prayer for this savvy traveler.

TEP has been gracious enough to offer Life with Lovely readers 10% off their rental or purchase – use the code “Lovely10” at checkout.

I’m breaking down why TEP WIRELESS Pocket Wifi is the best portable wifi device for travel and answering all your questions below:

What is Tep Wireless? || My travel bff! Teppy, as I affectionately call him, is a pocket wifi or mobile hotspot. This portable wireless hotspot is small enough to fit in your pocket, doesn’t require any setup or installation. Literally all you do is turn Teppy on and you are connected to secure wifi. You can connect with your laptop, phone, kindle, anything that has the ability to connect to WiFi. Digital nomads rejoice as Tep offers a more secure connection than public wifi, keeping all your hard work safe. Instagram lovers, post to your story or feed on-the-go!

How much does Tep cost? ||  Tep has options for every type of traveler and budget. Whatever your reason for traveling is, Tep has the right option for you!

Should I rent or buy Tep? || Fortunately TEP WIRELESS offers both options. Whether you should buy or rent Tep really depends on your travel plans.

If you’re planning on using Tep for a single trip or vacation each year then renting Tep will be just fine. To rent Tep, you visit the TEP WIRELESS WEBSITE and follow the prompts for renting a device. Tep is shipped to you before you depart and includes a prepaid mailing label to ship Tep back after you return.

If you’re a business traveler or planning on using the device for 3+ trips a year than I would recommend purchasing Tep. You only pay for the device once and then pay-per-day as you use it. I personally use the pay-as-you-go option. For the globetrotter that is always on the go, Tep also offers a monthly subscription service.

How does Tep connect to Wifi? || Think of TEP as a virtual bank of local SIM cards. Tep uses SIM technology to seamlessly connect to networks across the world. Tep automatically connects to local networks around the world by finding the best provider in the area you are in. You don’t need to worry about anything because Tep finds and connects to networks independently.

How many devices can I connect to Tep? || You can connect up to 5 wireless devices to your TEP WIRELESS at once.

How long does the battery last? || After a full charge, Tep will last up to 13 hours. You can charge Tep with a USB or wall outlet; both the USB and wall outlet plug are included in the pack Tep sends you.

What do I do if I’m traveling to more than one city or country? || Fear not, TEP has your back! Tep is available in the following regions: Europe, Central America, North America, Asia, Oceania, Africa, the Caribbean Islands, South America, and the Middle East. For a full list of countries Tep is available in – CLICK HERE.

There is a Tep for each region, for example, if you are traveling throughout Europe, you will receive the European Teppy. If you are traveling throughout Oceania, you will receive the Oceania Tep. When you rent you Tep, you will input the countries you plan on visiting and Tep Wireless will send you the best Teppy for your travels.

If you are planning on traveling to multiple countries and regions, the best option is the GLOBAL POCKET WIFI. Global Pocket Wifi works seamlessly across all Tep destinations (virtually the whole world)!

Concierge Service || TEP users have access to an exclusive local concierge service that provides personal assistance from advice and tips of exploring new places, discovering local cuisine, and best ways to move around with public transportation. If you want to add elements of surprise to your trip, ask your personal concierge to plan a surprise itinerary for you. You can connect with your local concierge through the Tep+ app or Whatsapp.

Call & Message App ||  TEP is intended to provide you with wireless internet connection not necessary phone service. But for those of you who would also like to have to call and messaging available, the Tep app allows you to add credits to make cost-effective international calls and send SMS. Tep+ users receive free text, voice, and video chat.

Kitestring || I highly recommend adding this free extra to your Tep. It is free, so what’s the harm? Whether you’re backpacking through Europe or just headed to dinner, Kitestring checks up on you with a text message. Simply reply to the message to “check-in” and if you don’t check-in,  Kitestring will send our emergency contacts a message. As a solo female traveler, not only do I have peace of mind that my family will be alerted if something happens but my family also has peace of mind that the app is holding me accountable to “check-in”.

Tep has been a game-changer when traveling! As always lovelies, if you have any questions I’m an email or DM away! Remember you can use the code “Lovely10” to get 10% off your Tep transaction – CLICK HERE.

Update: Tep Wireless has now rebranded as TravelWifi.
